About me
My name is Steffan Morris, I’m a freelancer from South West Wales and pursing and capturing adventure content is what I believe I was born to do.
No matter what the conditions or where on the planet, I am passionate and confident in capturing any story and with 6 years experience in media creation for broadcast television and high end social media content you can have confidence too.

My background
Growing up and spending time in the Brecon Beacons (my local mountain range) shooting with old DSLR cameras inspired me to capture the beauty of our natural planet and my own adventures.
As a result, today I have travelled to 50+ countries on every continent (except Antarctica) shooting everything along my travels.
I have worked in South Africa, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Alaska and many other countries as well as creating my own YouTube content where I plan, produce, shoot and edit and have done for the last 10 years.
I strongly believe this has given me a specific skillset when it comes to travel and adventure content creation which I show to an audience of over 5000 people, through an engaging and attention retaining way.

MY WORK
I understand that content creation is a process and this is because I have experience through each part, starting in the field with a camera.
I have worked within the Welsh section of the BBC, done documentaries throughout Africa and have filmed for outdoor clothing brands, often directing and shooting whilst using a range of cameras including the Sony FX3, FX9, action cameras and drones.
I am also a competent scuba diver with an underwater camera housing, so whether it’s in the sky or below the waves, I know I can get the shots you need!

Working in Kodiak Island, USA, Filming the salmon run for outdoor brand ‘Forloh”.
Working in Amboseli National Park, Kenya, filming a documentary about the political issues with the Elephant migration with Slots Media.
EDITOR
As an editor who often films, I understand how both steps work together. From the importance of data management to the intricate final stages of a colour grade I can do it all.
The majority of my edit work has come through the medium of broadcast television, working with companies like Tinopolis and ITV.
I have edited hours and hours of my own content for platforms like YouTube and short form content for Instagram and TikTok so my style has developed with audience retention in mind but keeping attention to detail and prioritising story, this approach has collated over 650,000 views in total.
Although I’m more than happy to take the role of editor, seeing an idea come to life from the filming to the final export is what I’m passionate about, from documentaries to corporate videos there’s not one creative challenge I won’t take on.

PHOTOGRAPHER
Photography is where my journey started, learning how to use a camera to take photographs has got me to where I am today. For me, trying to frame a window to a culture or a place through a singular frame is one of my favourite challenges.
From working with wild animals or ethnic tribes my goal when it comes to photography is to convey a feeling or a thought to the viewer then bring them to life in the edit.

Each has its own story and a memory to me personally, like getting surrounded by reef sharks in Belize or sleeping at the foot of Fitz Roy, Patagonia, I hope each picture gives you a way to connect with the world through my lens.
